For what it is, it's very nice. Nice people, learned quite a bit. They actually shared more information than many larger places. I would recommend it here.
This is a nice stop. Make sure you go through the museum in the main building which is south of the white picket fence. Unlike Fort Bowie, this fort has 3 of the original buildings. AZ State Parks has done a wonderful job of placing antiques in the building and the uniforms displayed in the main museum are wonderful. This is your chance to see a nice display about the Buffalo Soldiers and the Apache Scouts who contributed so much to the AZ way of life. The Camp Verde jail is just to the west of this so take the time to walk over to it. There is also an Archeology building to the west of the jail on the corner. Another great place to stop and see historical items
Can't say enough about the staff. So very helpful. Our car broke down in the parking lot. Sheila got right on the phone trying to get a mechanic for us. She saved the day and the fort was very interesting too
If you're interested in historic nostalgia you may want to stop and check this place out. Great treasure trove of artifacts and written documents in regards to the people that lived in the Fort. One suggestion,if touring during summer, visit
early morning to avoid the Heat
Nice quiet place but they need to open the restrooms up more
